Could someone please direct me to a list of every sin of grave matter?
A discussion should be started here if one is found.
Thank you!

that’s dangerously close to blurditude.…
It just annoys me that the one and only thing that will send us to eternal and uncomprehenible suffering is so unclearly defined. It can really make a person scared!
Again, it doesn’t work that way. Suppose you asked someone close to you (mother, girlfriend, whomever) for a list of all the things that you could possibly do that would annoy them enough to seriously weaken or threaten your relationship. They would probably name some things - but they couldn’t possibly name everything and they may say it would depend on the circumstances. Does that mean you are constantly in fear that you will accidently do something that will make your mother disown you? Of course not.So does this mean we can only commit mortal sin by committing ones that have been been specified as such by the church seeing as there could not be full knowledge otherwise?

The Church categorizes sin in the following way:So does this mean we can only commit mortal sin by committing ones that have been been specified as such by the church seeing as there could not be full knowledge otherwise?

It is very defined. So does this mean we can only commit mortal sin by committing ones that have been been specified as such by the church seeing as there could not be full knowledge otherwise?

Would you post that list? It would make a fascinating read.Hi,
The best I’ve found that comes close to such a list is the book “The Faith Explained” By Fr. Leo J. Trese. It covers the moral law in a relatively short space giving specifics. It doesn’t exactly have a list, but I think it covered every sin (I listed about 220) and explains which ones can be mortal, and under what circumstances they can be mortal. I made myself a list and put stars beside the ones that can be mortalI highly recommend that book!

I’m hesitant to post it because it might be incomplete for someone else. I may have used assumptions that are valid for me in making the list but not valid for someone else. Also, for lots of the sins, the explanation of when it becomes grave is quite complicated, and can’t just be fit into a footnote.Would you post that list? It would make a fascinating read.
Or can you commit mortal sin without super-complete knowledge? So does this mean we can only commit mortal sin by committing ones that have been been specified as such by the church seeing as there could not be full knowledge otherwise?
Sorry, shouldn’t say “annoyed” about the Church, or anyone. But anyway, I think I understand it now.It just annoys me that the one and only thing that will send us to eternal and uncomprehenible suffering is so unclearly defined. It can really make a person scared!
See your priest. All your threads point to you have bad scrupulosity. So does this mean we can only commit mortal sin by committing ones that have been been specified as such by the church seeing as there could not be full knowledge otherwise?

I found the list but it wasn’t 200 sins like I remembered, it was about 30 sins. Unfortunately I don’t have it here with me today.Would you post that list? It would make a fascinating read.
