Obviously, there are some problems with vaccines, hence those people who have had bad outcomes for their children.

If one isn’t in contact with foreign travelers, and one doesn’t live in an area where folks travel overseas much , I don’t think NOT vaccinating would be a big deal. Probably a bigger problem would be the rhino & noro virus which run unchecked in schools. We don’t travel outside our local area, and the only person we know who’s been overseas in the past year is our priest. We see him on the altar and have almost no close contact with him.

I’m sorry, but this is naive to a dangerous degree. You have no way of knowing where everyone around you has been. I don’t care how small your town is or that you seemingly don’t leave it. You really don’t take vacations out of your town? Even if that’s the case, you don’t know that someone in your area hasn’t been in contact with someone else who has left the area, and so on and so forth…I think you catch my drift. Just because your children made it safely to adulthood doesn’t mean that everyone else’s case will be the same. Your own children might have spread disease to other children who didn’t fight it off as easily. I personally think you played with fire and are promoting a dangerous game. You know the RCC doesn’t discourage the use of vaccines?

You are one international flight from ANY deadly vaccine-preventable disease. It takes one international traveler with the disease to bring it to your area. Vaccines are a victim of their own success. If they weren’t so great at preventing deadly diseases you wouldn’t have all of these, “It can’t happen to my child” parents. They say it’s no big deal not to vaccinate because they haven’t been overseas and seen children dying of these preventable diseases. They also aren’t old enough to remember these diseases in the USA. Ask any elderly person about the “polio season” they feared every year.

**I guess the thing that shocks me the most about the autism fears is that we have definitive proof that the guy that wrote that breakout paper fabricated results because he stood to gain a lot of money if he could claim they were dangerous. HE was the conspiracy! Not the drug companies! **

Plus, if you think your doctor or the drug companies are getting rich off of standard childhood vaccines, you’re wrong. Spend enough time in the medical field and you will see these are barely break even shots. Doctors often lose money on them but use them anyway because they feel a moral obligation to use them. Many companies that produce them give so many of them away to try to meet big goals to reduce the disease that it’s not the big money maker most think it is.
Very good post with a particularly good point.
