Today I just got kicked off of a internet forum that I was a member of for nearly six years. I won’t name names or sites (no need to) but this board had a “Hope, Faith, Grace, Redemption” board which is supposed to be “A place to give your testimony and witness to others. All are welcome to partake in the blessings so long as you remain respectful of others… No denominational bashings.”
Not so anymore it seems. One administrator (who didn’t start out as such) seems to have taken offense at a time where I either trounced him or he felt his arguments inadequate, turned tail and ran. Note that discussion was made for the intention of debate and it wasn’t some ill-tempered back and forth squabble and I certainly never got into it to “win”.
Well, he came back a few days later, went into some whining diatribe about people not sticking up for him or some other nonsense and left the board for quite a while. Well, then he came back as a moderator…then Lord High Administrator of this particular Cyber-Empire. I guess the writting was on the wall for me! Throw the Catholic to the lions!
I tried always to remain charitable, and when I haven’t or at least it may seem to be the case because of the difficulty to express oneself fully over the internet I have always got in line at the request of moderators or my own initiative. The last post I made was in defense of another poster, who challenged his interpretation on the signs of the end times and this particular administrator threatened to boot him off. I merely said that such was rather harsh and that the guy had a good point, albeit a bit vague. Well, that was just to much and I got the ax. Now I’m a non-entity.
Not that being able to participate in an internet forum is a really big deal, but if you participate in it for 6 yrs, you tend to get accustomed to checking in. So, I felt like ranting a bit. I just feel a tad bit irked, insulted, and amused all at the same time.
However, Christ did say that if the world hated Him, it will hate His followers as well.
