This morning at Mass I noticed something that I’d never seen before…our Priest had on chalice on the Alter and a decanter of wine on the side of the Alter, then after the concecration of the bread and wine, just before communion an EMHC took the decanter (hope that’s the correct word) and poured it out into four different challices and handed those out to our weekly army of EMHCs…I thought that glass wasnt supposed to be used when concecrating wine…also I thought that after the concecration had taken place there shouldn’t be any “pouring” into other challices because of the risk of spilling some of the Precious Blood.
Am I way off base here? I’m thinking that maybe the Priest didn’t notice what was going on? But why would he have left the wine in the giant glass/crystal decanter? I figure I’ll ask about it if it happens next week.
