Concept for one of my books

I heard somewhere about some traditionalist catholics that wanted to basically have heretics and dissenters persecuted. And sometimes I have had thoughts about the Church being in power of the world as well as the Great Monarch and Age prophecies.
The concept for one of my novels that I may write, or perhaps make into a series is a man who grows up Catholic in the traditionalist sense and caters to them as he rises to power. Seductively, he begins rallying people to his cause and begins what dictators often do: Persecute ‘enemies of the church and state’, only it’s liberal catholics along with protestants that are going to the concentration camps. Some of populace is unaware of the nature of these camps as some people are released after having renounced their heretical or dissenting doctrines and are scarred for it. Nobody knows his true nature of using the Church to gain power over the world and claiming he is the Great Monarch as he conquers the world until later on in his ‘reign’.
I mean, how many of you know about Michael Voris? He talked about how America should be run by faithful Catholics only ( and only them that should vote) and a Catholic dictator should rule it. Hmm, last time I ever heard of Catholics going for a dictator was Franco after the communists started killing priests, nuns and Catholics. The man ruled Spain for years until his death and the Royal Family came back home. I read on wikipedia he sent a Catholic division to the Eastern Front during World War II to fight the Soviets, don’t know if that’s true. It’s scary when politics intrudes upon Religion and starts outlawing it, yes. But shouldn’t there be equal concern when Religion starts to have some very coercive influence in politics? Like beyond the protests and influence of the Supreme Court justices, I am talking about how bishops start signing death warrants and a Pravda-like media. Look at Iran! They’re scary as heck in the Middle East. Besides that, I know of no other countries outside of the middle east that have a very coercive religion that completely and utterly dominates the nation. What do you think?

Your question is complicated. I missed that quote that you attribute to Voris. I only listen to his free material.

Despite anything in its history, the Church has a spiritual mission, given by Christ, to save souls. Overlaying or interjecting political ambitions does disrepute to the Church.

I will contradict myself a little bit, now.

In all the news overwhelming us about unaccompanied children migrating to the U.S., it is generally conceded that they are coming from lawless countries in Central America.

I think the Church is chomping at the bit for “regime change” in those countries, or should be. The Church’s entire solution for the immigration problem is to swamp the U.S. with destitute people. I think that is unjust to the U.S. – at least intellectually. I think it’s politically unjust, too.

It’s a politically contrived crisis, by thugs in the originating countries.

I am dismayed that the church is not stepping up its efforts to reform those countries, instead of throwing in the towel on them.

Reality is more interesting than fiction.

Well, not a Michael- Voris guy, though I plan on having a MV guy be a news anchor for the propaganda machine. Actually, what about making the Catholic Church be faltering in North America and Europe with bastions in mainly Spain, Ireland, some of France, and Italy, whereas it is just BOOMING in Asia, Africa and South America.
