So I have been talking more to her and constantly saying Dada and Mama while pointing. Also talking about “kitty”. I think I “might” see a bit more recognition of language. She really didn’t even watch TV when I had it on the Nick jr. She may just be used to it being boring so. . . .

anyway. . . I will keep this up. She really doesn’t tolerate reading much as she just wants to be on the go constantly.
If it really concerns you, pursue the advice of seeking out a specialist like some of the members here have already posted.

BUT, I got told by a very well meaning pediatrician that my DD was going to need “therapy” because she was a highly sensitive child and that I should seek out a special psychiatric counseling for her, and etc, etc. I was feeling a bit like a failure as a mom and a bit devastated as well. Thank God I didn’t follow up on that “advice”. As soon as DD turned 3 and a half, she was right where she was suppose to be and things became “normal”, or at least she was hitting all the milestones she was suppose to be for her age. Sometimes you just have to talk the well meaning advice with a grain of salt, you know your child best, don’t let anyone tell you differently. If you think your child is right where you think they should be, then follow your gut.

And just keep in mind, Einstein didn’t talk until he was 4.

This is hardly charitable. 😦

OP, if you have concern about speech delay, ditch the tv and find a speech therapist who works with very young children. They can evaluate and help you help your child. I have 2 (older) children in speech currently and speech therapists are wonderful!
The OP just PM’d me. She’s doing this to troll.

Rhyming is very good in aquiring language, so teach her some songs she can do movements to or that amount to playing…you know, “I"m a little teapot, short and stout” and “Itsy bitsy Spider”, “This little piggy went to market”, that kind of thing.

Political right-wing stuff is false.

baby speech stuff is true. :o

Mea Culpa.
Naughty girl! :tsktsk: But at least you have come clean. I don’t know what you had in your head doing that, but I hope your intention wasn’t to induce rash judgement in others.

It is OK to decide you don’t want something in your home without proving that it is objectively false. It is enough that you don’t like it. It may be wasteful to throw out what could be reused or recycled, but it is no sin to dislike preachy children’s programming, either.

Or, as the saying goes, “If Mama ain’t happy, ain’t nobody happy.” (Which the grammar-police mommies won’t teach their children, and that is OK, too.)

Seriously, why would you do that?

You know now whenever I see your screen name next to a post, I’m going to have a hard time taking anything you say seriously.

I don’t understand the purpose of trolling. Now no one will ever take anything you post seriously. Nice job.
