Today at mass the priest used the solemn blessing at the end of mass (“Bow your heads and pray for God’s blessing” followed by several invocations). I was just curious about the circumstances that a priest might use this form over the simple form. Does anyone know?:confused:

I think that it’s only on certain days. I think the invocations come from the Sacramentary.
