I’m looking for a good condensed version of Christ’s Passion and Crucifixion for my dear sister to read. I am trying to convince her that, even if she no longer confesses and attends Mass, having a knowledge and sincere appreciation for what our Lord endured for us will help us a GREAT deal at our hour of death.

That said, can anyone recommended a good condensed version?

Thanks.

I’m not sure what you mean by a “condensed” version. The account of the passion and crucifixion occupies 2 chapters in Matthew, Mark, and Luke. It takes more chapters in John because he also records Our Lord’s lengthy discourse at the last supper.

I don’t have a suggestion for a condensed version that already exists. Since you know your sister and what she needs, I recommend choosing one of the gospels, reading the two chapters, and seeing if you can condense it yourself. Ask your guardian angel (and your sister’s angel) to guide you in this work.

If you need an online version to copy and paste, there are many available. I often use the online version at NewAdvent.org.

God bless you!!

I really don’t think it would beneficial to her to condense the Passion and Crucifixion of our Lord. It doesn’t take that long to read. Maybe if you just copied that portion of the Gospel and give it to her she would read it. You are on the right track though in thinking she needs to read what our Lord endured in ransoming himself for our salvation. It very well might get her back on track. You are both in my prayers.
God Bless you.

:highprayer:

Almighty Father, You desire not the death of the sinner, but that he may be
converted and live. Pour out upon us Your mercy and hear the prayers of
Your servants. Soften the hearts of Your children who have strayed from
the true path which You established for their salvation. They are now
forgetful of their duties as Catholics, and pursue the pleasures of the world.
Grant that they may quickly return to the practice of every Christian virtue,
so that their lives may shine with the integrity of faith, the fervor of piety,
and the ardor of charity. Restore them all to Your sacraments and the life
of Your grace, through the merits of the most precious blood of
Your Son, our Savior Jesus Christ.
Amen
