A used condom left over the weekend on the doorknob of the Catholic Center at Montclair State University is being treated as bias crime, Clifton police said today, according to a report by the Record of Hackensack.

Police said the pastor of the MSU Newman Catholic Campus Ministry Center’s pastor said the incident represented an “attack on Catholic values,” the newspaper reported. *

Utterly disgusting. Please pray for Fr. Jim Chern (the priest of the Newman Center at Montclair) and the students.

it’s used then they will have a DNA sample…stupid kids…please pray the Lord softens their hearts.

Would be nice if they could get a DNA sample, but if the perp has never been arrested before, then there would probably not be a DNA sample on file to match it with.

He should have just thrown it away and moved on. Now he has made a “federal case” over a used condom and given it publicity. Some people will find this entertaining. Being subjected to petty, mean-spirited, vandalism (pie in face, spray-painted obscenities on buildings, bull-horn harassment, etc.) is just part of the price of getting involved in controversial issues.

They Jewish shop owners should of just sweeped up the glass and put it the trash no, since making a federal crime out of it, oh that is what they did:rolleyes:

The used condom isn’t the issue.
Harassment is to be expected.
That doesn’t mean they should meekly submit to harassment.

Maybe I am missing something here, but I can’t equate a used condom hanging on a doorknob with the widespread, coordinated, and governmentally authorized, property damage of Kristallnacht.

“In Germany, the Nazis first came for the Communists, and I didn’t speak up because I wasn’t a Communist. Then they came for the Jews, and I didn’t speak up because I wasn’t a Jew. Then they came for the trade unionists, but I didn’t speak up because I wasn’t a trade unionist. Then they came for the Catholics, but I didn’t speak up because I was a Protestant. Then they came for me, and by that time there was no one left to speak for me.” (Rev. Martin Neimoeller, German Lutheran Pastor. Rev. Neimoeller was arrested by the Gestapo for opposing Hitler and was sent to Dachau in 1938. He was freed by Allied forces in 1945.)

John Paul the Great was told once when he was thinking of taking up arms against the Nazi’s in his occupied Poland:

“We will win with love, not with guns. The Nazi’s will disappear because evil devours itself. If love doesn’t win out the nazi’s will come back under a different name…”

I though this was just my imagination but I see it now more clearly. The evil of the Nazis is showing its ugly face in the US and it can come back again, to take away rights and freedoms we think we have. Obama has the right agenda to bring the same situation as wartime Germany. This is no joke. People who call themselves Catholic voted in a president with a pro-death agenda. People want change but this is not what most Americans are expecting. It feels like the goats are being separated from the sheep. Make sure your a sheep!!!God help us…“be a witness to the sacredness of every life” JP2 the Great!:

I wouldn’t call them NAZIs including Obama, it is truly something of its own. But the culture of death has similar themes running through it and aspects of solicialism is there. What most people think of when the word NAZI comes up is the anti-semitic aspects and the death camps. There is a disconnect concerning economics and goverment intervention in peoples lives. It would be good for all to read the history of Germany, the politics of Europe and so on and so forth. Many of the same problems and failed solutions that created a NAZI Germany are still with us, it is like no one has paid attention to History. Are they teaching History in school anymore? Maybe it is because so much of academia that is in control of education are truly socialist at heart and do not want to admit that the NAZIs where socialist as well as most of the politcal leaders all around Europe then and now.

Part of the tatics both facist and bolsheviks used was to dismiss thier opposition as being idiots, and intimidation was the norm to silence any dialoge. Today the left have gotten more sophisticated with the appearance of being a caring and peaceful movement, but the true nature always will rise its ugly head. The left appeals to the youth of the nation and youth is not patient, it appears to the immoral and immorality is full of hate, you put the two together and they will always take the revolution to the streets, and in the streets blood seems to flow freely.

The left are always ready to use labels to divide the opposition. But it is time to stop being intellectually timid and place the labels upon the proper owners. Facism belongs to the Left, it is in thier history, in thier blood.

What was done to the Newman Center, if you add it to the other actions around the country aimed at the Church and other worship centers around the country this last week you would it is just a preview of what could come in the future.

The left wants to silence the opposition, for they do not want thier guilt to be exposed to the light.

This is the first time I have heard of a “bias crime”.

Is this a term used when the action is against Christians?

Is it in any way similar to a “hate crime”? A milder form maybe?

Sorry. Rhetorical questions… :hypno:

What a ridiculous thing to do. May the Lord soften their hearts and bring them to repentance.

Commission of an offense where the person acted, at least in part, with ill will, hatred, or bias toward, and with a purpose to intimidate, an individual or group because of race, color, religion, sexual orientation, or ethnicity. Offenses such as assault, harassment, intimidation or criminal mischief may have enhanced sentences imposed upon the perpetrator if it is proved that the act was a bias crime. See N.J.S.A. 2C:44-3e. Examples of hate or bias crimes include defacing a Jewish cemetery with symbols of anti-Semitism; throwing rocks through the windows of Chinese restaurants; or attacking persons believed to be gay. The F.B.I. Collects statistics relating to such crimes.

While its not such a big deal, there is a movement to make preaching against sins such as homosexuality and abortion “hate crimes”. They are trying to paint Christians as hateful and intolerant. So, its important to point out when we are the victim of real bias crimes, to show that we’re not the ones being aggressive.
