I would just like to offer one reason why I think condoms are against God’s will, since I’ve seen a lot of debate about it recently. I would say that one reason has to do with the intention of the man who uses the condom. When a husband and wife have intercourse, the husband should always intend to ejaculate inside his wife’s vagina, as that is the way God intended sexual intercourse to be completed. When he uses a condom, though, that isn’t the man’s intent; his intent is to ejaculate inside the condom. One Bible verse that supports the Church’s prohibition of contraception is found in Matthew 19:8, where Jesus said, “Moses permitted you to divorce your wives because your hearts were hard. But it was not this way from the beginning.” Although he’s talking about divorce, Jesus expresses his longing to have everything restored to the way it was in the beginning. Contraception is wrong because it destroys physical intimacy between a husband and his wife, which is not how it was from the beginning.
