Can. 1084 §1. Antecedent and perpetual impotence to have intercourse, whether on the part of the man or the woman, whether absolute or relative, nullifies marriage by its very nature.
§2. If the impediment of impotence is doubtful, whether by a doubt about the law or a doubt about a fact, a marriage must not be impeded nor, while the doubt remains, declared null.
§3. Sterility neither prohibits nor nullifies marriage, without prejudice to the prescript of ⇒ can. 1098.
Sorry, your version of the Catechism is different than mine. Umm…which version is yours? Mine is the US Catechism of the Catholic Church…copyright 1994
I’m very open to this, it’s just how I was raised. Please direct me to the online version of this Catechism.

Sorry, your version of the Catechism is different than mine. Umm…which version is yours?
It is from the CIC not the CCC. The CIC is the Codex Iuris Canonici (1983), which in English is the Code of Canon Law. It is on the Vatican website. It is not a catechism. It is like the laws of the Church. It has the rules about all sorts of things, about the seal of confession, marriage, trial procedure, etc. I have linked you to the table of contents. Read that if you like to get an idea about the sort of stuff that is in it. I quoted canon number 1084.

It also contains stuff like how a priest is to be treated if he is accused of something bad, etc.

I did not claim I was quoting a catechism. I stated where it came from, but many Catholics don’t realize it exists, so I completely understand that can be confusing. I didn’t know of its existence until long after becoming Catholic.🙂

Oh, well I do know what the Canon is. I just didn’t read your post closely enough. In fact, I believe the Canon would be more enforcing than the Catechism of the Catholic Church…

I recognize there’s a difference between impotence and sterility…
I’m not sure though…
So if unfruitful(in the form of children) sex is possible, then marriage is still accepted?
Could you PM and we talk about it more in that form?
