I received this email which asked me to pass it along:

Dear Iris,

Could you please make mention of this important vocations conference to everyone you know (via email, phone call, hand outs, etc.). There will also be special vocational insights addressing problems and solutions for those struggling with disabilities and who are older. People from all over the country will be attending. It is below:

“Have you had difficulty finding your vocation? Father Paul Zahler, OSB (Ph. D in mental and physical health) will help you answer questions like: “How do I identify who I truly “am” in regard to my calling possibly as a monk, nun, priest, married person, or single?” and “How do I stay on track once I am there.” This conference is for everyone married, single, young and old. Fr. Paul will address the special vocational needs and solutions for those with physical and mental disabilities, and those who are older? Vocation shows us who we truly “are” in Christ. Come and experience Christ in you during this special workshop. The date is Saturday 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. March 27, 2010 at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church in Kissimmee, Fla. For information and reservations call: (407)-436-1210.”

Thank you for spreading the word.
Love in Jesus,
Natalie

This conference sounds potentially quite important and useful. Any syllabus, or prospect of audiotapes or a video, or any other type of media coming out of this which could be acquired, bought or rented?

If the forums are any indication, there’s a potential pool of applicants out there who could find this sort of information very useful.

Another source of information is how you dispose of personal belongings without burning your bridges if things don’t work out. A potentially big problem for older discerners.

Wow! This sounds great!
Way to far for me to travel on the day before Palm Sunday–hopefully something similar will happen in the Mid-Atlantic area. Few if any vocation events actively include folks who are over 40.
