I need to go to Confession :(, and I committed a sin by feigning ignorance. Do I have to say in my confession that I feigned ignorance, or do I just say what I did and omit that I feigned ignorance?

Do you mean that you lied?

Do you mean that you lied?
No, I mean I was saying to myself, “This isn’t a sin” when I knew it was. The CCC says, “Feigned ignorance and hardness of heart133 do not diminish, but rather increase, the voluntary character of a sin.”

In that case I would mention both.

I have done that sometimes. “Father, I did [y], and I tried to excuse it by saying [x], but I did know better.”

Me too.

👍

Then I feel that I have made a good confession.

(and that’s a good question and follow up explanation, Easter Joey)

So you feigned ignorance while talking to yourself about feigning ignorance (???)
Yes, just mention both and don’t worry about it!
🙂

I’ve done that, too. Just confess both.

Something I learned from the Jesuits when I was a boy: “When in doubt-Confess”. The priest who is hearing your Confession can and will determine whether or not it is a sin.
