Confessing sins without emotions?

Have you ever experienced confessing WITH the desire to amend your life yet you don’t have any feeling of sorrow?

Isn’t it that reason is higher than emotions?

There are some moments that you can’t feel any emotions (sometimes even God)…let’s call it spiritual dryness. Does it invalidate your confession?

What got you in the confessional? Mother Teresa didn’t feel the presence of God for the last 50 years of her life. She is up for sainthood not because of what she felt but because she lived what she knew: God is love and that love must be shared.

Attrition (an imperfect contrition) is all that is necessary for the sacrament of reconciliation. You mentioned not lacking the firm purpose of amendment so the confession is valid and your love for God is known…teachccd
