Confession after being received into the Church at Easter Vigil

Once a Catechumen is received into the Church at Easter Vigil (Baptized, Confirmed and First Eucharist), is there some sort of waiting period before he/she can go to Confession?
 
not really. They have already been instructed on the sacrament of Penance and the moral law. During their mystagogy period after Easter they will be assisted in how to make an examination of conscience and prepare for the sacrament, and probably be given an opportunity for first confession at an arranged time. They will certainly be told they should confess sooner should they fall into mortal sin.
 
Ususally you have to wait till the first mortal sin…😃

TheMc, do you go when you have no mortal sins to confess? I ask only so that the OP does not think weekly confession (while admirable) is a requirement.
 
my priest arranged for all the members of my RCIA class to go to confession before the vigil mass…but our class had no Catechumens, on Candidates, so maybe thats why.

No, you only have to go to confession once a year. I should have made that clear.

But… that is an extremely un-wise thing to do. A generally accepted practical minimum is once a month, but once a week does wonders if you can manage it.

I made my first confession a week after I came into the Church.

I wish this had been the case at my church. We just had a potluck dinner the week following the Easter Vigil (with a chance for the priest to bless religious articles).

I think mystagogia sessions are very important. It can be difficult for new Catholics to find their place in the Church and develop a sense of the Faith.
