Confession and sickness

Hello again (im back, in some way).

Got a bit of question that feels difficult now. I need to go to confession as i have commited a sin that needs to be confessed (battling some issues), but has more or less over night become sick with a cold in the works (sore throat, sore neck and a nose more red than an angry bull).

As i don`t want to infect anyone, im doubtful. Should i wait to go to confession to my cold is done? Or is it unwise to put a confession on hold like that and risk pushing God away in the meantime?

It maybe sounds stupid, i understand. I just find myself in a dilemma. The entire me says: go, get it done, but do not attend mass and infect anyone, go instead home and sleep.

Some advices, yelling or tough words is ok, it`s deserved anyway. And it is appreciated.

What I love in this world is the difference in viewpoints among the various parts of the world. In some countries to go to the work sick is a brilliant show of professionalism, you give yourself all, even sick you go to work. In soutnern countries mainly.

In northern countries, you dont go work sick for you may infect someone. As you are from Norway, I would stay at home. Do not infect the priest, otherwise you will be responsible for him not hearing moe confessions and people missing confession.

Just kidding. God has already forgiven you. But it good for you to go to confession and rubber stamp the cleaning of your soul.

May be ring the priest. Ask him how he feels about you coming. While I can understand and appreciate your concern for the priest’s welfare we need to remember that a cold is a relatively minor illness. For a smaller proportion of people it is not. A cold can be a more serious prospect for them. No matter how many people I encounter with colds I never catch one. So ask the priest if he’d mind. If your sin is a mortal one than it means you can’t receive Communion until you’ve been to confession.
 
I went to confession and mass (i was asked to serve too, as i am an adult altar male server). Serving mass half-sick was a bit harder than usual, as i am still in my early training. But it felt good, an honour and special as it always is to serve at the Lords Holy altar.

And it was good to get the stones out of my heart and soul. Thanks for the advices.
