Hi there, I was wondering, should I receive communion when I have committed mortal sin (habitual lustful sins) when I cannot go to communion because of reasons beyond my control? My priest says I should go to Confession weekly to combat this sin, but I still can’t! :(. I really don’t want to receive communion in such a terrible state but it has been so long since I have and I feel shady and sketchy if I don’t receive… thanks for answering… God help me †.

You must never, ever, receive communion when you are in the state of mortal sin.

Thank you for the advise. Catholic1954, I will seek confession ASAP. I suppose I should so I can receive before Christmas.

Hi Kid, It seems to me you may require a sex councillor. Confessions are not somewhere you go for this type of treatment and it is unreasonable to expect a priest in confession to provide it. Perhaps your spitural attempts to control your lust could be enhanced if in addition to weekly confessions you prayed the rosary every day asking the mother of Jesus for her help to break your addictive chain of lust sex alcohol. I don’t understand “transportation"in the context of your statenent I cannot comment on it. The big neglect in all this is not paying allention to the warnings of Jesus to " Stay Awake” for we know not day the minute or the hour we shalled be called to account. Stay strong best Regards.

Yes, daily rosary will greatly help you.

Please do not take communion, you will add the sin of sacrilege to your list. Use not receiving and the difficulty to get to confession as a motivator to help you avoid this sin.

I forgot to mention, I can’t drive so I rely off others to go to Confession and church.

The only thing that changes is the difficulty level in receiving your sacraments. You still must abstain until you go to confession.
