There used to be a Confession app that the Church endorsed to help you with your confessions. It had a great examination of conscious, and all the prayers and was password protected. I had to get a new phone, and now the Apple Store is saying this is no longer available in my country (USA). Anyone know why this is offline in the Applestore and if there is another way to get this on my phone? The link below goes to the app page, and no mention of it being offline.

I do know some apps endorsed/created by various ministries. IIRC FOCUS “Lentsanity” app may have a confession prep component.

I’ve never known of the Church to endorse an app.
Please don’t take this the wrong way, I’m not asking of opinions of the app. It helps people with confession by allowing you to examine your conscious and to add things to a check list when going to confession. I have attached a review from 2011 where it was noted
"The app was designed in collaboration with a Church official and approved by Bishop Kevin C. Rhoades of the Diocese of Fort Wayne-South Bend as the first officially sanctioned iPhone/iPad app, according to Little iApps. "
Catholic Church approves Confession app - CNET
I’m just trying to see if anyone knows what happened to the app as this was a wonderful application that can help people when they go to confession.

That is a clearer picture, it was endorsed by a Bishop instead of “The Church”.

Apps come and go. That one looks to be a number of years old, chances are that the developer stopped support.

This article lists the name of the co-developer, perhaps you could reach out to him via Linked In? or at this:

Use the app Laudate
I had used this before and never really liked it as I don’t recall it being able to check things off so they are added to a list for the confessional. I see that is now part of it, so I will have to give it a try. The one thing I did like about the other app though was that you could add your own items to the list and also put a PIN on the app so anyone couldn’t just look through it. I found this as useful as when I would sin, I would go into the app, and update it so I would not forget. Just before confession then I would do a full reexamination as well. I also found an app called iConfess that seems like a watered down version of both apps. Thank you for making me look at Laudate again.
