Confession before conversion

My priest has been letting me go to confession over a month before my confirmation. I’ve been to another priest too who knows this. I was told this is allowed. I will be confirmed in less than a month. This is acceptable, isn’t it?

Yes, you can go to confession any time during the formation process.
 
Assuming you are already Baptized and have had instruction this is great!

Are you in a formal RCIA group or just private instruction with your priest?
 
Yes, I am in RCIA. Would have preferred more private instruction but this way I learned more how different Catholics think.
