Hello,
I know this has been talked about but here it goes: I’ve got a long list of sins ( 7 pages worth) and I want to go to confession. Does anyone have any experience w/ making an appointment for confession? Is it possible to maintain anonymity? Can I make an appointment w/ the confessor I usually go to, who’s not the pastor?

Thanks

My question would be, since it seems that you do already go to confession with some regularity, given you speak of the confessor you already go to, why is it you have such a long list of sins? How did you arrive at seven pages’ worth? I go to confession fairly regularly and never have that much to confess, even if I hit a period where I go half as often as usual.

I haven’t been in around 5 months and I suffer from scrupulosity.

I figured it would be scrupulosity, because even with a five month layoff, seven pages of sins seems a bit much. Make an appointment with the priest you normally go to, is all I would say. But ask for him to guide you. Are you seeing him or anyone for any kind of direction about your scrupulosity?

You probably should then. Maybe ask the priest if there’s a counselor he might recommend as well. How old are you?

It’s essential for someone who suffers from scrupulosity and needs assistance forming his conscience. Plus, you would be well advised not to ask questions on internet forums whenever you are unclear about your sins. Doing so will cause confusion, due to the variety of sometimes contradictory answers you will receive, as well as further your compulsions for reassurance seeking.
