What are better ways to use one’s overactive imagination then?
Maybe, if it’s that overactive, you need to put the brakes on it - a little interior mortification. Then perhaps pour your creativity into a more traditional art form - painting, a musical instrument, a disciplined study of creative writing - poetry perhaps, political speeches, architectural drawing - I don’t know - what do you like?

What I do know is that your current path will not lead to priesthood as you hope, but quite possibly to a sexual offender registry. Sorry to be blunt, but that’s what comes through in your posts.

Look at all the effort you expend trying to become an expert in confessing RP-related sins. Couldn’t you use this energy better somewhere else?

Give it up once and for all. We’re all behind you.

I don’t think you need to worry about the level of detail you describe to the priest. God understands where your heart is, and that you don’t intend to leave things out. That’s much less serious an issue than is that of avoiding occasions to sin, which is a key part of making a good Confession. St. Francis de Sales writes that a very important component of Confession is to have an intention to close off all occasions to repeating the same sin. Jesus said something similar, though more bluntly, when He said, “If your eye causes you to sin, pluck it out and throw it away.”

If you’re really serious about being cleansed of these sins, you’ll avoid the occasions for committing them. Right now, those occasions for sin are the role playing games, and possibly even the whole website(s) they’re on. Find some roleplaying sites that are PG-13 or some other creative outlet. If you keep on playing roleplaying games that repeatedly tempt you to sin, this suggests that you may be more serious about having a good time your way than you are about being free of sin. If sin is allowed to grow, it can become a very noxious and dangerous weed and can turn into even more vices.

So get out of it while you can. Close off the occasions to sin, all roleplaying in R or X-Rated environments, and look for a better place to roleplay, write or have a good time. St. Francis de Sales calls it a serious error in our Confessions if we Confess without doing what it takes to avoid repeating the same sins again, such as avoiding all occasions to sin, or in your case, the unhealthy websites or RPGs.

I find one of the ways that keeps me from using characters inappropriately is to make them clergy characters. As I said, I have never used one of those types of characters in any inappropriate sexual scene. But I then worry is it sacrilegious to create clergy characters?

And you have been told that it it’s ok so far as your intention is for the character to be true to his office.

I can feel for you in that you have been blessed/cursed( sometimes that’s how it feels) with a creative mind…I like building stuff cause i build things in my mind first, trust me i am no engineer for sure, which helps keep it occupied so it can’t wander too far…but when i am not thinking of projects Lord help me.

Avoiding the occassion of sin…for myself it starts with thinking of maritial relations and quickly goes down hill from there.😊

I’m sure it’s fine so long as you don’t make any attacks on the priesthood or anything ;).

You know what, I am going to write an e-mail to the Priest I confessed to these today and a week ago to set up an appointment to meet. Even though this is not my regular parish (this parish is the only one that does Confessions on Saturdays; mine does weekday Confessions, but no Saturday Confession), I assume the Priest should be willing to meet.

That sounds like a good plan…i feel it it is best to have a regular confessor…

For the Confession issue, I think I will assume the Confessions are invalid. Do I then just, at my next Confession, whether it is with the same Priest or a different one, tell him that I worry my previous two Confessions were invalid due to a concern I gave incorrect information or something and then just begin Confessing.

I worry that, multiple times, since I mentioned that in Florida, the age of consent is 16 if the other person is 24 or younger, did I invalidate more Confessions. It is the truth about Florida, but I worry I was somehow being manipulative or something. I don’t know.

I’m going to say you need to make an appointment with a priest. Tell him all your concerns, and say you don’t know if your confessions were valid or not, because you don’t know if you tried to deceive or not. Give any and all details he asks for.

I really don’t think anyone here can help very much. You really need to talk to a priest.
