Confession during church closings

Thanks for the link. That was the only time I every tried to do it over the phone, because I couldn’t speak the local language well enough yet. Nowadays my Japanese skill is good enough so I always went to Japanese priests for confession, although I would still prefer to go to an English-speaking priest if available in the area, since it’s a language that I’m far more fluent in than Japanese.

If you cannot go to confession, a prayer of repentance and true remorse will do the job just fine. You just need to note to go to a true confession with a priest as soon as you can. God understands.

Thank you very much all. I will take all of this to heart. Hopefully I can get myself to where I need to be.
 
If you are unable to find a priest to hear your confession then you should make an act of perfect contrition with the intention of going to confession at the earliest opportunity. God knows who didn’t go to confession when they had the opportunity and those who didn’t go for lack of opportunity.
