The priest we have now,

My first confession with him was he sat in the pew in front of me so whilst he knew it was me, (and did so anyway as by private appointment) it wasn’t face to face. It frankly kind of terrified me though carried on. I have no idea if he picked up on me being kind of terrified, or someone else said something to him because apart from the 2nd confession which would have been like that but moved into vestry… the following two he moved up a little so I can still see him. Far less terrifying. I am happy with that for even though their eyes are shut, its still natural to glance his way when talking etc and just being able to see even some of the face. 👍 I would be too distracted if outside walking about I think because I love nature though don’t know alot about it and its also very public so I would feel very conscious where as in church I am on my own with the priest and can use the surroundings to help me through. But it is good confession can be heard anywhere.

Wow, that is a canonical violation.
I know. It is. Often when I go to mass in this country, there are only a handful of us who kneel during the consecration… genuflection seems to be a lost art… and at two distinct parishes, they have a custom of the little children swarming Father at the altar to give him the sign of peace…
