The whole argument seems to be based upon a premise that I find doubtful, at best. At a wedding Mass, among the people receiving Holy Communion are some who ought not to be doing that, either because they are not Catholics or because, even though they are Catholics, it has been too long since they last went to Confession. Yes, that happens. But are the bride and groom to blame? Should they have taken steps to prevent those people from doing what they ought not to have done? My answer, I think, is No, they are not to blame. That can happen at any Mass, and no one is to blame except the person who is breaking the rules.
