Here is the situation: at my last confession, during the time after confessing my sins, at the time the priest was counseling me, the thought came to me that I had not confessed avoiding the near occasions of sin. I was not 100% sure at the time if this was a seperare sin or simply part and parcel of the sins already confessed. I was also embarrassed and didn’t want to interrupt the priest. Was my absolution valid? At the time I chose to trust in Christ. I attended Mass and received his body and blood. If my confession was not valid, must I now reconfess everything from that confession? Or should I just explain this to the priest. So confused…

I think you should mention this to the priest at the next confession and do what he says.

As you know Jesus is waiting for us in the confessional, He is only hidden by priest and works through the soul of the priest. I personally think if you genuinely forgot and remember when we say “for these and all the other sins I cannot now remember” God knows us inside out and He will know you are sorry. If you feel though that you should mention it say to the priest the next time in confession.

This sounds like scrupulous worrying. Ask your confessor for advise regarding scrupulosity.

I am not here directly addressing the OP’s question - I will post more for that which can be of help later. But I wanted to note the general principle regarding forgotten mortal sins (see the next post too for more on this).

Note: of one forgets to confess a mortal sin - one is obliged to confess it if one remembers in in the next confession.
