Hi everybody, just wanted to do a talk on confession, if we confess every sin even the worst sin of blasphemy of spirit can the priest really forgive it.

You’ve already had a thread about this and what the blasphemy against the Holy Spirit is.

Blasphemy of spirit Sacred Scripture
Blasphemy of spirit, why does the interpretation of the church differ from the gospels on this topic. Help is ther anyway a person can be forgiven if they have committed it. When Christ’s says “no penance or good works will forgive the person of that sin”
What there wasn’t clear or needs further discussion?

As you were told on your previous thread about this, the blasphemy of the Holy Spirit is when we die unrepentant of serious sin, because we believe that our sins cannot be forgiven. The only unforgivable sin is the one we do not seek repentance for. So if you’re alive, and confessing your sins, it is impossible for you to have committed the unforgivable sin.

I’m just worried that I’ve gone too far for forgiveness

The only sin that can’t be forgiven is that which you do not seek forgiveness for. If you’re concerned with if you’ve truly been forgiven even after going to confession, this could be a sign that you might be scrupulous, in which case you should find a good priest and go to him regularly for confession to help with your scruples. This forum cannot help you with scruples.

Yeah I do have bit scrupolisty, only started 6 weeks ago, Its more thoughts and stuff whether I gave into em or not is what I’m unsure about it.

See what happened, was on 22nd February I was at home at I was spiritually attacked by the devil, this isn’t the first time I’ve been fighting since I was 16, I’m 23 now. However this was different the devil attacked me stealthily, It was the most weird attack ever, I was at home and he got me to deny jesus as the christ, then I was worrying all week then the devil attacked me again with blasphemy, and I fell into under pressure, then I was worrying about what I said and I kept thinking about what I said and re saying it. I’m very worried that I committed this sin, that’s my issue.

I really recommend you talk to a health professional about your obsessive thinking/compulsive saying. Scrupulosity is considered a form of OCD, so please do talk to someone about it. Talk to your Priest about your struggles with scruples too, he will be able to guide you.

Yeah I feel like it’s effected my love for christ that’s what’s bugging me, I really was into my faith and the priest, told me that the devil only attacks the good or the souls close to God.

You really need to get some help from your priest and a counselor. You should not post here about these kinds of things. It will only drive your compulsions.

Others would be well advised not to continue replying.

You are in my prayers.
