Confession on Holy Sat

I was wondering if priests hear confessions on Holy Saturday. I would like to go before I go to mass on Sunday.

Preists can hear confessions any time of the year. Now, whether the can or if people come, is a different story.

The one thing I like was that a nearby chuch had confessions at least one alotted time on Monday, Wenesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday of Holy Week. I think this was wise. One of the problems I see around here is not enough times offered. (i,e, if you are busy between about 3:30 and 4:30 on any given Saturday, your out of luck)

At our parish, no confessions were scheduled during Holy Week.

The last chance to give a confession was on the Saturday prior to Palm Sunday.

My RCIA co-candidates and I had a chance on the Wednesday (of Holy Week) to make our confessions because we had a rehearsal that evening for Easter Vigil.

I went to confession on Holy Saturday at the Church where I attend the OF on the rare Sundays when we don’t have our TLM at the Cathedral. They heard confessions from 10 to noon and 2:30 to 3:30. The usual confession schedule is Saturday 2:30 to 3:00 or by appointment.

I just got really lucky, I suppose. I wasn’t able to go after Holy Thursday services (I was up until 1 a.m. talking to my best friend who was having doubts about finishing the RCIA program. He completed, though. )

His class had a special confession time for Saturday morning, and I tagged along. The priest was very accommodating and took in a few people after the RCIA/RCIC people were done.

Plus a friend of his was in town for the holiday, and he listened to a few people, too. (Yes, he’s a priest)
