Hi all,
First off: I’m sorry that this question has been asked time and time again, I just am unsure.

At confession today the priest prayed a slightly modified prayer of absolution an drew at the words of absolution said: “I absolve you from these and all your sins in the name…”

My question is: is this still a valid confession (and absolution)?

Sorry if I sound nit picky I just wanted some clarity.

“I absolve you” and “in the name of the Father…Spirit” must be included. You’re fine!

(The reason I say that, for those who don’t get my humour, is that it is so hard to avoid the sins you’ve just finished confessing. It’s almost like reruns for me. )
