Hi

I have a question I went to confession today we have a visiting priest because my priest is out of town. When I went into the confessional I made my confess and Father spoke to me. He did not give me a chance to do an act of contrition he went ahead and gave me absolution without the act of contrition. Would my confession still be valid?

I would say yes, not required to make Act of Contrition while in Confession, but make when doing penance or even now…

I agree with what Simon X wrote. I also want to take it a step further and state that a confession is valid as long as the words of absolution are spoken.
