Whenever I went to confession to my spiritual director (we can’t see each other anymore because of distance, but we do keep in contact online), Father Chris would lay his hands over my hand and pray, and the Holy Spirit - whom I felt as joy and peace - would flood my body. But every time He did, my whole body would tremble and feel light as air, and I would always have this fear of levitation. And every time I would ask God to take away my fear and let me trust in Him, and the feeling I had would vanish. But the peace and joy would remain and I would have strength to battle spiritually.
My question is, is this trembling the devil’s work? What about the light as air feeling? I told my spiritual director about this and he said it was the Holy Spirit. Recently I have been wondering if it is the devil. If it is the Holy Spirit, though, than I apologize for my dobuting God and my spiritual director. If it is the devil, though, I will pray to Saint Michael.
