In response to your questions…
We have 3 children.
It was my 17 year old daughter (who recently was caught smoking and ditching school, so I felt giving her a beer was adding fuel to her fire.) I felt like my husband should have analyzed what was going on with her, and consulted with me before giving her alcohol.
The M video game (Grand Theft Auto 2 ) was purchased for my 11 year old son.
My 11 year old son was almost suspended from school for drawing a picture where he was pointing a gun at someone.
I’m not prudeish, but every decision we make as parents has an affect on children, and if they are off course, it is our responsibility to help them find the right path again.
Do I really have the obligation to be submissive and not question his authority?
We do go to counseling to work on these issues, and my counselor agrees with me…
So does my husband…after I discuss things with him. He just has a hard time with his initial parenting decisions, or is remiss at provide thorough supervision at times.
