Confession question?

hey whats some ways i should try to convince my mom to letting me do penance and how should i let this treat our friendship cause i haven’t talked to her after she said to me “you don’t need a priest just pray forgiveness in prayer and started saying that I’m 17 and i don’t know anything and i cant make good decisions”
 
Seems you are not Catholic yet, so praying for forgiveness is the way to go for now-and make a sincere commitment to avoid those/that sin in the future-Trust in the Mercy of God.
For now, you must respect and obey your parents, so a gentle and humble acceptance of your situation would be a good way to show them the sincerity of your heart.

You can always call your local parish and have a priest come and meet you at a public park or something, or perhaps one of the parishoners would be willing to come and pick you up to take you to confession!

In the meantime, you MIGHT be willing to trust perfect contrition… but that’s a bit difficult (and harder than it sounds when described)… and I do believe that relying on perfect contrition is really for when you can’t get to confession and there is a real and present danger that you may lose your life before you get that chance… it’s not something you can use as a SUBSTITUTE for the requirement to attend sacramental confession…

For perfect contrition:
  1. we must be perfectly contrite for our sins. We do not regret them because we fear hell, but rather because we realize well and truly how much our sin hurts God and in turn it hurts us. We can have no personal interest in perfect contrition, only remorse for the harm our sin has done to God and the world… This is the hard part… it’s easy to THINK we’ve put ourselves in this place, but it must be mental, emotional, and spiritual.
  2. Say an act of contrition:
    “Oh my God, I am heartily sorry for having offended Thee. I detest all of my sins because of Thy just punishment, but most of all because they offend thee, my God, who art all good and deserving of all my love. I firmly resolve, with the help of Your grace, to sin no more and to avoid the near occasion of sin. Amen”
  3. Resolve to and attend sacramental confession as soon as possible:
    Like the title says, see a priest and go to confession the next chance you get!
 
My priest heard my confession in his car before. He just parked by the road outside my house.
