If one were to go to the priest lets say thirty minutes before mass, Could one ask him for confession?
Would that be wrong?

My Story:
I have once again fallen into sin and the only time I would be able to go with a priest would be before a mass on Saturday for my cousin’s daughter’s Baptism. What can I do?

You can ask yes, but he can say no.
Agreed.

I have done this a couple of times, and the priests were quite happy to hear my confession, and it was a beautiful experience.

Some extra tips…

30 minutes is possibly too long, as the priest is likely to be doing something else up until about 10 to 20 minutes before Mass. It helps if you know his usual routine before Mass, and approach him as he is entering the church or vestry.

Ask for a “short confession”, and keep it short. Go straight to the sin which you need to confess now. Have it prepared almost as if reading from a script.

Don’t expect him to go to the confessional - just kneel in the vestry while he dons the purple stole, then make your confession.
Call the priest and ask him.
Definitely! He will appreciate it if he knows you’ll be there.

Start saying the rosary daily, and if you can’t get to confession don’t receive.
