Confession: Saturday 3-3:10 PM Huh?!

Just saw this while perusing my diocesan directory. Wow! Must be a really speedy pastor or a congregation of angels

Many Catholics neglect the Sacrament of Penance to such a degree that the parish you read about probably can fit all the penitents in those few minutes. Luckily they still offer it at all.

I’ve seen, I believe it was, ‘5-5.15pm’ at a neighbouring parish. 3-3:10 pm is not too far fetched for me to believe.

I don’t think the OP should be ‘naming and shaming’ on the forum.

Many priests seriously neglect this sacrament as well as preaching of its necessity.

2:30-3:10 or 2:45-3:10 would encourage more parishioners to make use of the Sacrament. Unless the priest is physically unable. Hope he hears confessions by appointment. Our priest is in the confessional on Saturdays from 2:30-3:30 which is prior to 4:00 Mass and by appointment.

That is sad, so I hope it’s a typo. It doesn’t really surprise me, though.

With such a short window I’d figure it means that the priest will wait that long for someone to show up, and if anyone does he’ll stay as long as needed. I wouldn’t figure it for the total time he has allotted to hear the confessions.
