Confession seems to easy. I go on a regular basis. My Priest offers good advice and says just spend time in prayer as penance. But it all seems to easy.

if you confess right, by saying all the sins in kind and number, and feel really sorry for them, then congratulations, there is many of us who wish it were as easy for us.

You are welcome to do extra penances for yourself, other living people and the souls in purgatory. Just don’t over do it.

I think for all of us the hard part is saying our sins and waiting for a response.

Do you only have venial sins to confess?

When I fall into mortal sin I feel my whole life has crashed around me.

It’s simple (and sometimes easy), but sometimes the challenge is being willing to be changed and cooperate with His grace. Once willingness and trust are part of the equation, His grace is amazing! We are fortunate to have this sacrament:)

I went to confession today, the priest was wearing Jeans, T.Shirt and Jacket he had his baseball cap in his lap… Perhaps it’s just me, and I am judging where I know I shouldn’t but I felt that the Priest should at least look like he’s taking his Priestly duties seriously…

You read about the importance of the Sacrament of Reconciliation, in giving a good Confession & examination of conscience, however, it seemed all to easy and afterwards I was left feeling as if he wasn’t taking it solemnly enough

Priests must meditate on what God has entrusted into their hands. Otherwise, as so many have allowed, they will not appreciate what they have, and to the tragic detriment of thousands of souls, will not exercise this power of pardon.

Confession seems “easy” if you keep it up and stay away from mortal sin, yes.

When you fall so hard into temptation that you can’t get out of it for months, thats when it gets tricky. Just getting yourself to the confessional is a feat in itself, but turning away from the temptation of sin is even harder. So considering you have to be in a mindset not sin again and actual repentance, I would say that the “difficulty” of confession is relative to where you are in life.

Hmm. If you went even more often it might become harder in the sense of coming up with content to confess. I once read about a saint who went to Confession on a daily basis. That really baffles me, but it may be good to know there is always someone holier than you out there.
