Hi, I joined this forum under this pseudoneme to ask you guys/gals a question.

First a little about me. I am a young male 20 years, avid catholic. But I have a question that is troubling me.

Well I was addicted to masturbation. First it was normal masturbation but as years passed by I went to sicker things . Like foot fetish, anal masturbation. Had anal with my girlfriend (now ex 😦 after i proposed life in chastity :)) . I will be brutaly honest. I am not gay, I plan not sleeping with a man and I find that thought to be discusting. But as I went deeper into masturbation addiction I had to have sicker things which normaly now when I try to live chaste life seem like abominations. I was into humiliation, swinging which included sleeping with a man and a woman(although not in real life in my fantasies) .
Although sleeping with a man was mere a humiliating act then sexual. Arghh that internet porn!!!

Things which I regreat now and plan on not doing anymore.

Ok so on confession I would always confess this sin as sinning lastfully with myself , but should i confess sodomy. And how deep into details should i go. Or just say sinned sodomy with myself and my girlfriend.

To make thing worse I now have been for 4 yers thinking about joining the priesthood. I was called in my 4. (last) grade of highschool but my parents didn’t let me and i didnt finish school so i was stuck. From then I tried to deny my calling but it is now out.

Oh and I have a spiritual leader I dont know the english term for that. Which is working with me on seeing the calling. And I will say this to him, but I am ashamed. Thanks for your help . Good bless.

Brother…

you are shamed by your sin… amen. So were Adam and Eve… they hid from God.

The struggle for Purity (TRUE Purity of Heart…sexual purity is only the beginning) is the ongoing fight of most men, I’m afraid. Scripture tells us the the one flesh union (of man and wife) is a mystery and that it relates to “Christ and His Church” (Eph 5:32)… If this is True, then what better way for the evil one to attack the Church than to destroy marriages?
When we delve into the root cause/effect of Lust, we can begin to see Satan’s (the Father of Lies) machinations

Yes, you must confess the sin of sodomy… it is one of the sins that “cry out to heaven for vengeance”… it is a serious matter. I surmise from your desire to live a chaste life that you have already confessed to fornication. You don’t need to go into detail… Your confessor will ask you to elaborate, if he feels he needs clarification. DO speak about all of your sins with your Spiritual Director. Ask him to advise you on how to make a good (and complete) confession

You’re in the battle now, my friend… You are not alone. I struggle with purity too…and I think most men do to varying degrees. Going forward, seek out the fellowship of other men and share the fight… put on the armor of Christ and support each other. About 3 years ago, we started a men’s rosary group that prays for Purity…and for the women we have harmed through our Lust, or the Lust of other, selfish men. This has borne much good fruit… Commit to frequenty (daily, if possibe) reception of the Eucharist, supported by frequent Confession… we need ALL of the Grace we can receive from the Sacraments to overcome our proclivity to sin (Concupiscence)… Know too that you cannot overcome these sins alone! You need the Sacraments and the love and support (Communion) of others…drag it out in the open, and shed the light (of Christ) on the darkness and isolation that this type of sin leads to

I also recomment the use of an accountability partner…someone with whom you share the struggle DAILY. I recommend the workbook/program “Clean of Heart” by Rosemarie Scott

God Bless you… Do not be afraid… and remember that you are a good man, and God wants you to keep trying

Dittos.

Confessing need not go into vivid detail. How you described it in your post is sufficient detail. Priests have heard it all; God knows the details.

It’s a struggle. This isn’t easy. But you are not alone and can have help.

👍

Yes I tried that , but God grave me grace and today I went to confession and confessed my sins of sodomy. PRAISE THE LORD. I was so anxious that I prayed the Holy Rosary almost the whole day. I just couldn’t hold it in anymore skipped class and went today to Mass and confessed. YAAAAY.

Amen to that brother. I will fight it with all my heart and I pray for strength to carry my cross.

Yes Devil was attacking me today and telling me that I shouldn’t confess that I will be rediculled by the priest, that I will not surely be given pardon for the sin that cries to heaven for vengeance. One thing that i realised that you should be honest and not sugar coat.

Amen. I go to daily reception of the Eucharist . Only not when I have school, but that is a day or two in week. And I pray the Holy Rosary daily. And I am in a really good community of Catholics we have Bible studies with a priest. We go on “worship trips”,

Thanks I will look into it.

Oh brother I can not tell what these words mean to me. I thank you and from now on You will be in my prayers. God Bless you.

Thank you. You have made yourself a good friend. When other would condemn me Jesus and my dear friends and fellow Christians have not. Yes the need not know all the details. But if they ask I will surely provide them. :o

I’m writing with tears streaming down my face…thinking of the passage:

*"…But while he was still a long way off, his father saw him and felt compassion for him, and ran and embraced him and kissed him…" * Luke 15:20

Amen John! This helped me through some of these same issues years ago, go regularly to confession, at least weekly. Go to the same priest, one that you feel comfortable with; but not the one that tells you what you want to hear. This becomes therapy, serious spiritual therapy! Don’t dwell on the times that you fail, notice the growth in the time between failures. Talk to that priest about that in particular. And most of all, pray regularly to the Father who loves you and wants you to be who you were created to be!

Also some practical things to do are, move the computer to a public place in your house, if you cannot do that purchase some good blocking software. Our family computer is now in the office which is visible through glass doors to the family room. The kids and my wife and I are in plain view whenever we use it.

I have to admit I left this forum yesterday feeling pretty sad about another thread that I was involved in. I am glad I came back this morning! Thanks for your testimony and your yes!

I also have to admit you brought tears to my eyes as well, for the obvious reason that Kolbelover stated. I too have felt the welcoming arms of the Father; all of us are and have been that lost son!

God bless you on your journey!
