So a few months ago when I came back to the Church I made a confession, first one in oh about ten years give or take … I was fairly nervous at the time and I was given absolution but now I wonder … Was I clear enough … Did the Priest fully understand what I was trying to get across ? Anyone else have had anything like this ?

It’s not necessary to confess the same sins over and over.

In the event that I do not understand what a person is confessing, I ask one or more questions in order to understand. If the priest hearing your confession did not ask for clarification, you should assume that he understood.

Just remember…going to confession may be a new experience for you but hearing confessions is not a new experience to any of us, excepting those who are newly ordained and even they can gain experience pretty quickly.
