I’ve been away from Confession for 7 weeks - a long time for me as I had been going weekly for years.

After I I had confessed my sins my priest asked why it had been so long, 7 weeks was so unlike me. We had a beautiful discussion about why I’d avoided the Sacrament and the benefits of starting over - frequently and with the help of God’s grace.

I was so touched that Father C. was sensitive enough to notice and mention how long it had been since I’d been to Confession. It showed that he knew me as a person, as a child of God, and that he truly cared. I’ve been so blessed to have this particular young priest in my life. He’s being transferred to another parish at the end of next month. I’ll miss him but his next parish will be blessed!

It is a special blessing when your confessor knows you well. I’m glad that you were able to work through your difficulties and return to confession.
