Confession validity question

The last time I went to confession, I was quite nervous (I don’t confess very often), and I therefore kind of forgot to excite contrition or resolve not to sin again. I suppose if I had thought about it I would have done so, but because of my nervousness I was sort of just “going through the motions”.

Was my confession valid?

As long as you were sincerely repentant, and it was your resolve not to sin again, and the priest absolved you of your sins, the confession was valid. Being nervous and forgetting are human frailties, they are not sins.

Actually, I didn’t go out of sorrow for my sins. I went to confession on the day before the (Latin) First Sunday of Advent because I hadn’t been all year and wanted to fulfil my annual obligation before the end of the liturgical year just in case that was required
