Confession validity?

If one had homosexual lustful thoughts and just confessed lustful thoughts would ones confession be valid. The person wanted to make a good confession and was not withholding anything. Does the person need to reconfess this?

Thank you I will try not to post about these things. Pray for me as I am really struggling and have a disabled child along with 2 others and it’s really tough surviving with my own mental illness OCD/scruples on top of their needs

Wow, that must be very hard. I’ll say some prayers for you as soon as I post this. I don’t know if you’ve ever heard of a book called Understanding Scrupulosity by Fr. Santa. It’s a fantastic book that really helped me with my scrupulosity. It talks about how St. Alphonsus Liguori struggled with it as well. It is written mostly in a Q&A format so it’s an easy read.
