As a Catechumen, I was told I could not be absolved. My RCIA leader said I could go to Confession, but the priest would not absolve me. Upon hearing this I was deeply saddened and disappointed, I’ve never been to Confession in my life and I feel truly sorry about some things. A friend told me I shouldn’t be sad; Confession is sacred enough it should worth the wait. I’ve learned a lot about Confession and understand it, but the Eater Vigil is still a good 11 months away(which really isnt THAT long). But I don’t know if ANYONE could go around knowing they are not absolved of their life sins but there is a way to be absolved. Am I missing something here?
And is my RCIA leader right? Even if I did go to Confession and the priest did not absolve me, would it not be considered sacreligious?
