If you mean you are drawn to confession because you’re sorry for your sins and you wish to make right with God, then there’s nothing wrong.

Are you anxious as in nervous or as in excited? Both are pretty much normal.

Could you elaborate a little? Are you saying you get nervous in a bad way or excited in a good way? Or are you more saying you can’t seem to go more than a week without feeling a need to go to confession?

Based off what you have stated so far, it could be a good or bad thing, or neither.

Welcome to CAF.
I would only be concerned if you are scrupulous, nit-picking over every little sin or you think is a sin. Of course, mortal sins must be confessed as soon as possible. Otherwise, no concerns.

You should not be concerned. There is nothing you can tell the priest that he hasn’t heard before.

it isn’t nervousness it is more like it is becoming the highlight of my week after mass the joy of knowing my sins are being forgiven and the hope it gives me.

This is normal I was excited for a few days and when I was finally able to meet the priest I felt so much better!

That can be good But also remember venial sins …“daily sins” as they are often called need not wait for confession …they can be forgiven in many ways (contrition, the Our Father…reading Scripture, Holy Communion… etc etc). This is not to say one should not love confession and bring some to the sacrament each week…but this too is important.

(I too love confession! …it is very helpful in renewing ones baptismal life of following Christ as his disciple)

This is a question I was often confused about. So in mass when the priest has us say “I confess to Almighty God…” is that only to forgive us of our venial sins and not mortal sins?

That is correct. The Penitenial Rite does not absolve mortal sins, contrary to what my parish likes to tell people.
