hi
i went to confession tonight ( by appointment ) and i confessed my sins. when i went out of the confessional, i felt lighter and happier. yes, i broke down in the confessional. it was a relief to go to confession. big time. i have felt joy in going to confession, the joy at being in a state of grace is wonderful. God truly is merciful. He really is.
what would we do without it? iam happy that we as Catholics have the priveledge of going to confession. that we are absolved of our sins. it is a great grace to be able to have our sins absolved is it not? it is a wonderful gift from God.
sin stains your soul. confession and absolution cleanses it. it is hard to live with the stain of sin on the soul. i don’t like the stain of sin on my soul. not at all. i can feel the stain of sin. it feels unclean and stain of sin can ruin our relationship with God. when you go to confession, and confess all your sins, and are heartily sorry for having sinned against God and you receive absolution it is like the soul is lighter. it makes you feel lighter.
not just in spirit, but your emotions feel better. this is my experience with how it is for me. i want to be the best catholic i can be! i want to live my life to please our Lord. i want to live my life for Him.
i feel that doing penance is a great grace. i don’t mind doing even the hardest penance. i do it because i love Jesus and i want to follow in His foosteps. He died once and for all time. He died so that we might have everlasting life. to have priests is also for me a gift from God. they are holy and i respect them as such.
when you talk to a priest, it is like talking to Christ Himself. sometimes its hard to think of that, but it is the way it is. confession makes your soul clean. and when you die in a state of grace, it is because you have confessed your sins and you are given absolution and are in a state of grace. i wouldn’t want to end my earthly life in a state of mortal sin. the priest told me that iam in a state of grace, and considering iam facing a potentially serious operation tomorrow, iam glad iam in a state of grace.
yes, i did receive the Sacrament of the Sick. and iam greatful to God that this is part of our faith. it is a wonderful Sacrament. i see priests as very holy people. they give their lives to God. iam truly truly greatful for priests. God is indeed merciful, and He is also great.
I thank the Father in heaven for priests.
