Sometime back I went to several absolutions for pretty much the same things. I could tell my Pastor and confessor was getting fed up and my penances were getting tougher. This was in the heat and I can’t take the heat well and I am anemic and have other problems.
Well what I have decided to do is start going to Mass regularly 1 or 2 times a week and be in the presence of God. Enjoy the Mass and just not take the host I am not worthy of. Well none of us our but especially me right now. Saying the rosary helps me a lot too. After I do these two things for a while and get stronger. Then go for absolution and take the host. Does that sound like a plan?

I think maybe you should look at why you are committing the same sins over and over and also find another priest to confess to who might have a fresh view of things.

I understand wanting to take a step back because you are frustrated, but you do need to face up to why the same sin keeps recurring.

Weakness. Being attacked or something. I can’t go it alone. I need the help of the rosary and going to Mass. Then I want to take the sacrament of the host again.

I am doing something like that too because I needed to go, but I have committed the same sins to much so I want to wait a bit before going back to the confessional.

I like your ideas. If I can offer a suggestion: Read Psalm 144.

While there is a debate in some places about repeating and confession to the same sin, in the end, the penitent should be able to go to confession without being shamed.

What do you mean “repeating and confessing the same sin”? I think you mean for example, lie and then do it again, and re confess. Not lie and confess that same sin twice. I would think in certain situations it could be easy to do the same sin again. If you’re weak and under fire for example. Something is going on with me. I haven’t been able to get out to Mass much for one thing. But sins of the flesh especially can be hard.

I find this thread very strange. It does not appear that you understand the sacrament of confession well. When you confess a sin, you need to have a firm purpose of amendment–a serious intent not to commit the sin again. If you find yourself committing the sin again (don’t worry–we all do) you need more confession, more frequent reception of the Eucharist, and not less. Perhaps you also need more penance, and that is what the confessor is giving you.
Do you really want to stop the particular sin? Do you do a daily examen? Your job is not to care about what the priest thinks but to be accountable before Jesus Himself.

The way I understand you have to at least have attrition. Hopefully contrition though. The rosary helps me a lot but I am not aware of what “daily examen” is.

What is attrition? I have a strong sense that you don’t really know much about the sacrament. I’d suggest you do some study. A daily examination of conscience is the way to go about taking sin seriously.
