What about your sins before your were Catholic, does not confirmation erase all these. Also can you ask for forgiveness without a Priest, I have problems since so many lawsuits have been filed and paid the last 10 years. Bishops sort of covered them up and that has to be a sin.
 
I thought it’s baptism that removes all sin, not confirmation? could be wrong though…

No, only baptism removes all you previous sins. You can ask forgiveness to God, but for mortal sins you must ask forgiveness of God in an even more penetential way - through the sacrament of confession. Don’t be afraid of priests. There are plenty of good priests to go to confession to.

No, Confirmation doesn’t erase sins; only Baptism does that. Mortal sins committed after Baptism have to be confessed in order to be absolved.

I have no doubt that bishops have sinned. They are human and make mistakes like anyone else. But that doesn’t change our need to obtain forgiveness for our sins just as they need to obtain forgiveness for their sins.
