he didn’t go for the last three weeks.

He had gone to mass since the deconfinement, maybe two times. One with me and the oldest child. One only with her (but because I push me a lot).

Was he a regular mass goer before all of this started? I am wondering if there will be some people that “got used to” not going and find it difficult to go back. Or it could be that he is still afraid he will get Covid from someone.

I think he would be more afraid of someone in the church get the virus. because it is almost all old people, so vulnerable to the virus. He is not too worried for himself presently.

But I don’t think it is the main reason, or a true reason. He seems “used” now to not go to church, and is very happy to have more time for himself, and free from annoying religious things….And when it starts, there is always a good reason why we absolutely can’t go to mass…

The first reason he goes to church is because I requiere it. The second it to create a routine and walk the children by feet all the sundays, and for them to go outside the house. It happens sometimes that he goes without me, with the daughter. He doesn’t go for convictions.

CUT the next topic for more clarity:

I have discuss it with some the few catholic mothers of the surrounding parishes of the extend area (to the last informal meeting, we were almost all here, so 6 families for 4 differents parishes). It appears that everyone complain about the mass and liturgy and no one found the mass in their parish interesting. They go because of tradition, because of faith; and “because we had been raised to support the parishes”.

Me, I don’t follow the text or homily (It is because it is how I am, unable to focus on something), I go there because I believe, and want my family get used to the mass who is a mandate, and structure of the week.

It is really a problem, because most of the families that constitute the bastion of the center of the city parishes are unhappy. One is about to leave. The mother (the one who homeschool) said she don’t miss the mass during the confinement. So she tries somewehere else, with a more traditional mass and priest (not a TLM mass, but a mass almost in latin, with no lay people who distribute the communion, only communion on the tongue, and vibrand homily).

I didn’t return to this parish since the deconfinement. Not being able to have mass, maybe make me less likely to make my mass “shopping” and enjoying having a mass next to my door.

I used to go to the center because there is children, and our parish don’t have them. But the attitude of the priest, who has no complex of excluding me and a baby from a group in shameful conditions- I wait maybe a mail of excuses, but nothing came- don’t help. They don’t want babies and mothers around? Well, so…

There is also a scout group this priest is the chaplain, don’t don’t come often to say mass. So the scouts don’t have mass the sunday. I know it is difficult, because of a lack of priests.

There is some frustrating things, sorry to vent with critics of my local churches.

Make me think that we have forget to contribute financially for the church. Very bad thing. I should catch up that…

The pandemic start a little more again in some areas. Masks become mandated in closed areas in some cities.
In a short time, masks will become mandate everywhere in France in closed areas.

It is not the end…

Are they still planning to open the schools?
The schools re opened May 11.
School was a mandate for all students the last 10 days of June/begiining of July.

Now we are in holidays since July 4 until the beginning of September.

Yes, the schools would be opened and mandate for all in September.
That must be so hard on you all
I don’t how the general population live this little come back. For what I observe, they are more careful, such as wearing maask and social distancing, but not every time.
For eg, we go to visit a castle tower yesterday. When we climb, we touch the same places as many people. It is against the rules against transmission, but the tower was opened.
But on the contrary, the playground for children was closed…!

Some “experts” in the newspapers speak of the confinement as a “traumatism”. Some people said us that they don’t have any memory of the confinement. It is as if they have lost 3 months of life.

For our family, I would said that we have others reasons to worry than a virus that is spread in a close area but not ours. We try to respected the rules. But I am selfishly annoyed that we cannot go the two of us at important medical appointment…

masks are a mandate in close public places since August 1;

We are on vocations and there is a lot of people in the supermarket. The social distancing is not respected by customers when they go to pay to the cashier.

People wear everywhere in a very large majority disposable surgerical mask made in China. Clothes masks that were the norm before are now a small minority.

How sad for the ecology and sad because at the same time our local factories who make cloth masks have stopped their production but have several masks in stock.

We bought low cost masks in the supermarket yesterday. Sadly made in Poland. I am sure that it would have been better to wait a little and buy these news masks who can be washed 40 or even 50 times! (contrary to 11 times before!) They cost more but definitely cheaper on long term! I saw some after in a pharmacy. Something rare because now pharmacies sell almost only disposable masks.

On the medias there is a lot of speculation of a probable second wave on infection.
World news, such as in Chile are sad. People are now able to take money on their retirement savings to pay for their bills and debts…

August 5,
Our daughter had just took a nation lesson in the sea with a certified monitor.
They were in close contact. So no social distancing here…
