The little orange guys from “Willy Wonka”You lost me?? Who are the Oompah-Loompahs?![]()
OK, I don’t mind being called an Oompah-Loompah. I am a parent who upholds the church teachings and I plan on passing this onto my children. I’m not sure how I should take that comment. Hopefully, it was not negative??The little orange guys from “Willy Wonka”
The ones that chastised Veruca Salt when she wanted a 'golden goose" and fell down the garbage chute
My apologies to Asquared.I didn’t get that Asquared was calling you an oompah loopah at all !!!.
The post refered to (in general) those who were bringing their kids to get a baptized, but then saying “Well they can make up their own mind after that”. And was specifically addressing the couples who were coming to Asquared’s parish for marriage prep or convalidations.
You clearly don’t fit into either category.

Right, he saying that the oompah loopahs were right. When parents raise their children without faith. They are at fault. My in-laws are at fault. (yes they are, I agree) If you raise your child in faith, then you are doing the right thing.I didn’t get that Asquared was calling you an oompah loopah at all !!!.

Sorry to hear that…my son was 3 months away from Confirmation and I pulled himout of the half baked program and enrolled him in a new parish…he can still make confirmation this year not an issue and it is a benefit as the new parish is having Confirmation 2 months later than the old parish.Well, unfortunately she is 3/4 of the way done with her Confirmation Classes. So, I would not be able to take her out and put her in a new class in a new parish. I like my parish and it seems that the surrounding parishes are the same as ours. The only thing I can do is contine to practice my faith and set an example for my children. I also plan to investigate the DRA (Director of Religeous Activities). She required a salary from the parish which many of us feel was not necessary. She has very progressive thinking which sometimes annoys our pastor. I plan on getting involved more so with these classes because I have another child who will be going through this process next year.
