Confirmation as Eastern Catholics

I grew up as an Eastern Catholic, but I would like to ask how the sacrament of Confirmation is carried out. I dont know what age we have this sacrament, as I’m not sure if I was confirmed myself. Answers about different rites would be great

According to Tradition you are Baptised , Chrismated confirmed ] and given Communion when you are Baptised.

This is what** should** happen but sadly in some areas the Latin practice of delaying Communion till you had reached the age of reason whatever / whenever ] that is and Confirmation was delayed till your teens .

The only way to be sure is to get your baptismal record from the Church where you were Baptised .

So Eastern Catholics are confirmed during Baptism? I once heard that from a religion teacher but I never heard it from anyone else. What about communion

The 3 Sacraments of Initiation in all Catholic Churches are

1. Baptism
2. Confirmation called in the Eastern Catholic Churches Chrismation ]
3. Communion.

As I said before - according to Tradition all 3 Sacraments are administered when a baby /child is Baptised in Eastern catholic Churches

Adults coming into the Church will Receive whichever were not administered when they were Baptised.

Although Communion was often delayed until the age of reason during the heyday of Latinization I am unaware of any church delaying Chrismation/Confirmation.

It varies. While not as widespread a latinization as the delay of reception of the Eucharist, it did happen - with Eastern children being confirmed by Latin bishops at 10-14 yrs. In which of the Eastern Churches were you raised? That might offer a hint as to the likelihood.

I was raised Maronite Catholic. Baptised as a baby. Communion at 7 years old. Have no idea about my Confirmation.

In the Latin Rite Christian Church, all records are sent to the place where one was baptized. I believe that includes all of the following sacraments: baptism, holy communion, confirmation, marriage and holy orders. Contact the parish you were baptized and also holy communion. They probably have a record of all of your records or can send you where to go for them.

I was raised Maronite Catholic. Baptised as a baby. Communion at 7 years old. Have no idea about my Confirmation.

If you were baptized in a Maronite church by a Maronite priest, whether you were “confirmed” (Anointed with Holy Myroun) at the same time would depend on the when and the where.
