I am 40, coming back to the church after a couple of decades away. (I never joined any other “religion.”) My uncle and aunt will be my confirmation sponsors this May 31st.

He wasn’t sure what a confirmation gift for me would be. I said I didn’t know but I could try and find out… So, I’m asking! 😃

Also, does a person being confirmed give their sponsor(s) a gift as well? If so, what? I’m not sure what to get them.

I love them so much. He was a father to me when my dad skipped out when I was 2 1/2. And my aunt is doing everything on their end to fly out, get their letter they need to my church, and even getting my first communion certificate. They’re so amazing. I want to honor that. Any suggestions?

Thank you!

I got my sponsor a little glass plate with the Holy Family on it.

Traditional gifts for the one being Confirmed include a missal, a rosary (the Catholic standby), a bible, a crucifix (what my sponsor got me), a book of prayer, or patron saint statue or medal.

You could get them any of the above, or anything else really. Perhaps a picture of the three of you, framed?

You’re so lucky to have them, and welcome back, we’ve missed you!

I would browse through an Ignatius Press catalog and find a good book or video. You would be hard pressed to not find something of interest to a practicing Catholic.
