Confirmation on John 10:28

My question in regard to John 10:28 is:when Jesus says:“I give them eternal life,they shall never perish. No one shall snatch them out of my hand…” Jesus is speaking of a time after our death when our final assent to Jesus will be made. For at that time our free will ends and our eternity begins.then follows our purification and hopefully the “Beatific Vision” I realize the temporary judgement comes at that time as well. Am I correct in my interpretation. Thank you for a reply

From the Haydock Bible Commentary

Ver. 28. They shall not perish for ever: and no man shall snatch them out of my hand. He speaks of his elect, of those whom he called by a special Providence and mercy, whom he blessed with more than ordinary graces, and with the gift of final perseverance to the end in his grace. (Witham)

Our free will never ends. It is just that once we are fully in God’s presence we will choose only good. But we will be freely choosing it; God will not be forcing us to choose it.

Perhaps it will be similar in some way to God having free will – which He definitely does. Yet He never never never chooses to do what is evil.
